SUMMARY:Redwood City Adoption Day
DESCRIPTION:The following dogs are scheduled to attend this Adoption Day. \nFemales Attending\n  \nKendall is an eight-year-old spayed female returned to our organization when her owner passed. The owner had adopted Kendall from us when she was a year old. Kendall is a very soft dog\, taking some time to warm up to people. Once she does\, she enjoys lots of pets and belly rubs. She will lie quietly by you while you work or watch TV. Kendall walks well on a leash\, enjoying a stop to sniff along the way. She is not reactive to dogs or people. Kendall is getting along with her foster brother and sister\, and other dogs who visit her foster home\, both large and small. She previously lived with cats. Kendall showed some territorial behavior in her past home\, though there has been none in her foster home. She is crate trained and potty trained\, uses a dog door\, and stays off the furniture. She does dig a little and will bark if left outside alone for long periods. Kendall would like a home that will take the time to help her settle in and enjoy the next part of her life. Read more… \n \n\nShadow Nose is a perfect sized 53 lb.\, 3 year old\, well-adjusted GSD-mix who was recently diagnosed with maegosophalus*\, a big word for she has trouble swallowing food. This condition sounds scary but is easily manageable. Instead of placing her bowl on the floor\, Shadow has been taught to eat standing up on her two feet at a doggie table which allows the food to more easily travel to her stomach. It’s actually very cute to watch!!! Her vet and foster are thrilled at Shadow’s resiliency. Honestly\, we get the impression Shadow thinks it’s fun too! Read more… \n \n  \nMales Attending\nOne-year-old Ace is fun loving and playful and has an oh so sweet temperament. He’s ready for whatever you want to do. He’ll play quietly with his toys and entertain you as he throws his Kong up in the air and tries to catch it as he bounces it around on the floor. Or go for a 3 mile walk\, let’s go! He would make a good walking or jogging partner. Then kick back and watch TV\, he enjoys that too. He wants to join you in whatever you are doing. Read more… \n \n\nFezzick is wonderful adoptable dog (puppy)? and here are the details about his behavior: His demeanor is friendly\, warm\, trusting\, and happy.  Fezzick meets all the requirements for being house-trained; he goes in the appropriate places and is somewhat predictable.  We would like to see him more clearly communicate the need to go.  Fezzick is able to eat among all four other dogs\, and shows no aggression or resource guarding.  Our household feeding routine is that each dog must sit and be calm before being allowed to eat.  He follows our family practice of skimming the other food bowls when done. Fezzick takes treats with gusto\, but never snapping.  Gently almost.  Read more…\n \n\nScar is a handsome\, young\, 90+ lb lap dog. He is well-behaved in the house\, potty-trained\, and can be left alone loose for a few hours (so far). He rides well in the car\, barks only occasionally\, and only chews on his toys.  He has knowledge of the commands: “come”\, “sit’\, ‘down”\, “out”\, “leash’\, and knows his name.  He is enthusiastic and gentle with adults\, even strangers. He hasn’t met many children yet.  Read more…

SUMMARY:San Jose Adoption Day
DESCRIPTION:The following dogs are scheduled to attend this Adoption Day. \nFemales Attending\n  \nI am Josie\, a very smart\, 70 lbs.\, three-year-old girl\, with classic GSD coloring.  My fosters have been very patient with me. When they have guests\, I love to meet and play with them.  I was enrolled in a training program to improve my behavior around other dogs while on walks. I have improved but still need practice. I understand heel\, stay\, and sit\, the basics of being a good girl. I am working on being a better passenger\, learning to relax and not get overly excited.  Some of my favorite things are walks\, playing with my toys\, and napping in the sun. I love when my foster parents say\, “Get a toy\, Josie\, and let’s play.” I run over to my toy box and throw a few out until I find my favorite. Read more… \n \n\nTara is a beautiful\, 70 pound\, long legged 7 year old kind\, sweet and generous dog who is thriving in her foster home. Tara is smart and curious and is responding well to training. She is crate trained but sleeps quietly on her doggy bed and waits patiently until her family wakes up. Tara has great house manners. She doesn’t chew inappropriately and stays off furniture. In the backyard\, she doesn’t dig and isn’t destructive. Tara is not a demanding dog and happily waits until her foster family is ready to play. Tara loves walking and hiking and never pulls on the leash. She can be fussy when other dogs bark at her but is easily redirected. Tara wants her people all to herself\, so we recommend she be the only dog.  No cats either!    Read more… \n \n  \nMales Attending\n  \nFezzik is wonderful adoptable dog (puppy)? and here are the details about his behavior: His demeanor is friendly\, warm\, trusting\, and happy.  Fezzik meets all the requirements for being house-trained; he goes in the appropriate places and is somewhat predictable.  We would like to see him more clearly communicate the need to go.  Fezzik is able to eat among all four other dogs\, and shows no aggression or resource guarding.  Our household feeding routine is that each dog must sit and be calm before being allowed to eat.  He follows our family practice of skimming the other food bowls when done.
