Adopters

When you inquire about a dog, the following questions might be helpful:

1. Why are you giving up your dog?

2. Has the dog ever bitten, nipped or 'gone after' anyone?

3. Does it have any health problems? Who is your vet? May I contact him/her?

4. Where did you get the dog? Does it have papers?

5. Does your dog have any training? Is it housebroken? crate trained?

6. Is the dog left alone for long periods? What does it do? Bark? Dig? Chew? Is it an inside or outside dog? Where does it sleep?

7. How does the dog behave with adults, children? Other dogs? Cats?

8. Is your dog mellow? calm? energetic? protective? affectionate?

My name is Rico (Rico Suave) and my sister is Rita (Margarita). We are siblings, born on April 6, 2019. I am about 75 pounds, my sister is almost 70 pounds. I am neutered and microchipped. I am up to date on all vaccinations, and I have received flea/tick/heart worm prevention regularly. A few months ago, I had eye surgery to both of my eyes to correct entropion, and it has completely healed now. I have had three weeks of intensive training at Shamrock Ranch Kennels in Pacifica, because my mom said I was a pup out of control! I have calmed down a lot with the training, and I respond to commands such as "come", "sit", "stay", "off", "leave it", and "heel." Well, sometimes I don't respond to "come" or "leave it", but I'm trying really hard! I just get so excited about new stuff! I love going to the dog park, and I play really well with bigger dogs, although I'm a little bit nervous sometimes. Small dogs and cats look like toys to me. I love children, especially older children who won't get knocked over when my big body brushes past them. I am very friendly and social, but I have a lot of energy and I require lots of exercise every day. I require a large yard with lots of space to run around. I like to go on car rides, but please don't leave me in the car alone. I like to sleep in my crate at night. I am very alert and cautious, and I would make an excellent guard dog, ready to protect you from any possible threat. I would like my sister, Rita, to come with me to my new home, but we understand if we must be separated. I will easily make new friends, and I will love you forever.
