When you inquire about a dog, the following questions might be helpful:

1. Why are you giving up your dog?

2. Has the dog ever bitten, nipped or 'gone after' anyone?

3. Does it have any health problems? Who is your vet? May I contact him/her?

4. Where did you get the dog? Does it have papers?

5. Does your dog have any training? Is it housebroken? crate trained?

6. Is the dog left alone for long periods? What does it do? Bark? Dig? Chew? Is it an inside or outside dog? Where does it sleep?

7. How does the dog behave with adults, children? Other dogs? Cats?

8. Is your dog mellow? calm? energetic? protective? affectionate?

Magic Max is a 5 yr old, fit, handsome, healthy, neutered, high energy, high prey driven beauty! He loves his ball games and agility/search and rescue games. He's well behaved at home, came to us house and crate trained although needing more leash training and more leadership than I can provide. He would love a large securely fenced rural yard to chase wind, squirrels, gofer--no small dogs or slow moving cats. He's no non sense with other dogs and has had positive play times and some scuffles with grumpy dogs who don't feel like playing or are very protective themselves. He will do great with more training and is a one person let's go doggie. I do not recommend him around young children as he is patient and indifferent, but the quick movements can irritate him. He's been a great house/family guard dog: gives out a warning bark and learned right away not to jump on male guests so enthusiastically. He wakes us enthusiastically each day with kisses and waggs but he sleeps on his large bedding by the door--great guard dog who loves to accompany us on drives in his crate in the hatch. We love him and want to see him thriving in the right home. Our lifestyle is just not what he needs.
