When you inquire about a dog, the following questions might be helpful:

1. Why are you giving up your dog?

2. Has the dog ever bitten, nipped or 'gone after' anyone?

3. Does it have any health problems? Who is your vet? May I contact him/her?

4. Where did you get the dog? Does it have papers?

5. Does your dog have any training? Is it housebroken? crate trained?

6. Is the dog left alone for long periods? What does it do? Bark? Dig? Chew? Is it an inside or outside dog? Where does it sleep?

7. How does the dog behave with adults, children? Other dogs? Cats?

8. Is your dog mellow? calm? energetic? protective? affectionate?

Cleo is a 4 year old German Shepherd mix who is very lovable around the people she knows. She is currently an only dog, and shies away from dogs larger than her, however she will happily play with smaller dogs. She chases stray cats which eat her food and has learned to dislike them so should probably not be housed with one. She grew up alongside our child so is fine around babies and small children.

She loves to go for walks but needs a harness as opposed to a simple leash as she tends to pull excitedly. Aside from that she loves the typical stuff (fetch, belly rubs, etc.). We enrolled her in obedience school when she was 2 and she understands many commands: "sit", "stay", "shake", "leave it", "leash", "walk", "car" (go in), "ball", "frisbee", "potty", (go pee), "poo poo" (go poop), and can easily learn many others.

Cleo is housebroken, neutered, chipped and has all vaccines up-to-date. We hope that she be placed with a home that can give her the attention and love that she deserves.
