Sheba is a 2 year old female German shepherd. She is spayed and super friendly. She loves being around people in general. She knows how to walk on a leash and doesn’t jump. Sheba doesn’t have a high prey drive and can be around other animals like chickens and cats with proper introduction. She’s been to parks, doggie camp and around other dogs with no problem. Sheba is great with kids and has often played with my 8 year old and her group of friends. The only time they have complaints is when Sheba steals their toys. She loves car rides and normally falls asleep. She is super treat-driven and knows basic commands. She would be great with a family that has kids or other animals, but even a couple that is looking for a new addition.
Sheba has been between my mom’s house and I since she was about 3 months old. She was initially my mom’s dog but my mother had an accident and won’t be able to care for a large dog so I took her in. We genuinely all love Sheba and she’s a great family dog, but we are hoping to move overseas soon and I am currently pregnant. We didn’t expect to have a family dog but we wanted to make sure we care for her until we find the best fit. My mother is also moving to a smaller place and with her injury and the elderly community she’s in, she cannot have dogs.
Sheba has never bitten or gone after anyone. She is more on the skittish side and more shy than confrontational. She will let anyone pet her and loves to be next to people.
Sheba is up to date on all her shots and vaccines. She has her rabies certificate and spay certificate. I take her to Banfield. Yes you can contact them.
My mom originally rescued Sheba from a German Shepherd center called ShepHeroes.
Sheba knows basic commands; sit, stay, no, come, inside, lay down, stay close, leave it. She walks well on leash and stays next to you. We do use a prong collar. Sheba is crate trained. She has always been an outside dog as my mom’s other house had a big backyard and we live in the forest with a lot of land. She has her own shed that’s insulated and our whole lot to roam.
Sheba loves her kennel and goes in there often to lay and relax. Even though she has a huge area to roam I find her in there often. She sleeps in her kennel that’s in her insulated shed as she is an outside dog but her door stays open so she can roam. We leave our shoes outside and she never chews them and other gardening things. We give her enough of her own toys and bones to where she doesn’t need to chew but then again she’ll be two in August and has grown out of that stage. When it comes to barking, she rarely barks during the day but at night if she hears foxes or other little critters she will however she’s not a constant barker. She does great on our walks and doesn’t bark at other dogs.
Sheba is super friendly with just about any human, kid or adult. Sheba has been around my daughter since she was 7. When it comes to other animals, I think with proper introduction she will be good. We’ve taken her to parks and downtown Los Gatos and let other dogs come up to her. Like I mentioned, she even goes up to our chickens to say hi. One of them got in her area once and she scared it but didn’t harm the chicken at all.
Sheba is affectionate, friendly, clumsy and has normal energy. Sheba loves playing catch, tag and hiking. She can be skittish when it comes to loud noises and can be shy but overall loves being around people.
