I am Violet, a German Shepherd approximately 6.5 yrs old, spayed and weigh about 55 lbs.
I was rescued from euthanasia after a 3 month stay in an animal shelter. For the last 5 months I have lived with an 88-year-old active woman. She’s wonderful and I love her but unforeseen circumstances make it important that I find my new forever home. I have enjoyed a big back yard, frequent visits with friends, and daily training with family members.
Temperament:
I am very loyal, smart, sweet, and a loving companion. I am dedicated to the person who cares for me, but I do bond with other people and adapt easily to hanging out with friends and family members.
My one challenge is other dogs. Although my new home has taught me new behaviors when I see dogs, I do tend to overreact. My people are helping me, and I have made some progress. I am comfortable wearing a muzzle and a gentle leader when walked.
Training:
I understand the commands sit, wait, come, heel, side, and down. I like my crate for sleeping in at night, when I am left alone and when riding in the car. I know to do my business outside of the house. I am trained daily and have a professional dog trainer to help with progressions.
Forever Home:
I know I will thrive in an adult home as an only pet. I love people and will be sure to bring joy if I am kept safe and know I have a good leader. I am a quick learner, in fact I love to learn and would be happy with someone who is active and as dedicated to me as I will be to them.
